3,500 fashion and design professionals to meet in Zaragoza, Spain, in October

Next October 22 and 23, Servimoda hopes to get together 3,500 fashion professionals and young designers in Zaragoza, Spain. The event, a fair that covers the Euro-Mediterranean area, will attract different countries such as Russia, Morocco or Turkey. This is the first fashion production contest for brands and designers that aims to pull together the offers of the garment industry, as well as the providers of all kind of fashion products. The goal is to get together professionals from most of the related sectors: accessories, garment industry services, optical industries linked to fashion, dressmaking, home textiles, raw materials, technological textiles, shoe making, leather goods, cosmetic and perfume laboratories, jewel and costume jewelry workshops, electronic industry, new technologies and nanotechnology. The president of the Zaragoza Fair, Manuel Teruel, explained that “the idea is that Zaragoza be the sector’s neuralgic center, of all the technology surrounding the Mediterranean area’s fashion. The event will hold technical conferences on fashion (Jornadas Técnicas de la Moda) with talks on European production and the future of the sector. Public debates will also be held on fashion rules, research and development, outsourcing, business concentration, the implantation of new technologies, and the future of exporting. Luis Fernando Mayayo, president of Fitca, said, “The fair is an important commitment to adapting to the needs of the market. Fashion now demands shorter and better adapted production for the customer’s needs.”
